Great fun! What a really good use of platting to create a very workable design. Easy to make and yet looks very impressive. Those are the kinds of balloons creations I like. I thought your instructions where clear and easy to follow. Good job! Well done! X

I don't know why, but after watching that interview I really fancy a peach yoghurt.

Balloon Chit Chat / Advice from a great performer

Recently, Buster Balloon 'shared' this Facebook post. It contains advice given to magician Brian Brushwood from Teller of 'Pen and Teller' fame. I feel it applies to anyone forging a career in the entertainment industry. Here's the link:-

Hi Team!

I'm looking for balloon jewellery ideas for a high class jewellers fashion. Any ideas would be most welcome.

Perhaps the sarcasm didn't come over in my original message.

This year I've noticed a real dip in the corporate market for balloon related entertainment. The private bookings seem to be coming in thick and fast... But often last minute. I'm getting one or two bookings from shopping centres but the main volume of work for me is coming from Nurseries and Play Centres and repeat work from regular clients.

Where do other artists find the demand is coming from? And have you noticed a change in the trend for Christmas work this year? If so, why do you think that is? Also, I'd be very interested to know about work trends through out the year. I'm not suggesting you give a way details of specific employers. Let's just keep the discussion general.

For example, I find that Christmas is usually my busiest period with private parties and corporate bookings from city clients, nurseries and shopping centres. Summer is my next busiest period with bookings coming from school fun days and work from the holiday industry and again shopping centre programs. Then half terms and holidays (in fact any time that kids are off school). During the week I pick up other gigs from event companies looking for balloon twisters for evening adult events like 'Generation Games' and as break-out sessions for conferences.

I welcome your thoughts.

Thanks Natalie. I always enjoy seeing your creations. love your work.

I'd love to see a snipit of your work KJ Entertainments. Danny has always gone for the silent clown option with his shows and sets it all to music. I admire that approach and can see lots of advantages to a show like that as you can tour it over seas without a language barrier.

Thanks Anna. I'm really glad you like it. Danny Schlesinger and my colleague Martin; who is in the show with me, have been working with me and looking at ways to develop the show and make it stronger.

Lowemagic - I like your ideas about story telling through balloons. I was watching 'Arizona Jack' the other day and his routines are all about using balloon wearables as a tool to tell stories

Please please make this one a rare London event. We never get anything down south and there's so many of us eager to get involved. London is such an easy location to get too with so many transport links.

Please please bring Don to London.
