Thanks All,
I asked the organizer if I was to get paid for the extra time. She is going to call me back but seemed surprised. She also had a list of "simple pieces to do".It's 4th of July theme. How about a simple Top Hat, Bald Eagle or Uncle Sam !!! In three minutes from two balloons??

Balloon Chit Chat / Working a queue.
June 30, 2011, 12:24:23 PM
Hi Guys,
Can anyone help me out with this? What is a reasonable amount of two balloon creations to produce in an hour for a shopping centre queue? The organizer is asking me to get 20 each hour for four hours, with no break. They also suggest i bring 50 pre made pieces with me.
Also is there any tips on how to control the length of the line as you work? Apart from working quicker  ;)
                      Thanks, Lorcan

Hi Snurb, Just a thought.I was given some marketing tips by a client some years ago. He told me that the most important thing on your card should be your name, address and direct contact point. The second is who, or what your business is.When you find an old card the first thought is Who gave it to me? then Why did I keep it?
I experimented with a slightly bigger card.He asked me what it was for? If it was a business card it would not fit in a card wallet or on a desk top container. If it was to act as an advertising tool then it should be designed as such.Decide which you want and focus on making it the best.
The type of type face used is also very important. When a new client looks at the card is it clearly legible? Some types of script look fine on bigger format but lose out on business card size.I agreee with Graham the picture size may look far too small when printed.Be sure to get a proof before printing.Sometimes less is more,
             Brendan.

Welcome / Picture size

Hey guys,
I'm having trouble uploading a picture on the site for my avatar. It is not the size in pixels that is giving me trouble but the size in Kib. How do I change the kib size when I am using Irfanview?
If I can not do it on Irfanview can you give me a reference to one that can.
Thanks again,

Lorcan.

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Panda
December 09, 2010, 09:45:38 PM
He guys,

I was recently asked to make a giant panda for a friend's event. I looked for one and found one in issue 30 of the balloon magic magazine. It was made by ken stillman. I figured out how to make it but I am not sure what size round balloon he used for the body. It is quite big so I was wondering how big they come and how hard they are to get.
Please help,

Lorcan. :?

Thanks Graham for the link just bought a bottle for myself. Its great that you found an english shop that sells it. On ebay to buy it from america it costs £18.00. The cement is cheap but the shipping is colossal.
Thanks again,

Lorcan :D

Balloon Tutorial & Help / rubber cement
December 07, 2010, 07:14:11 PM
Hi everyone,
I'm in a pickle. I need elmer's rubber cement but I live in Ireland and it is quite hard to find it. I have looked everywhere and still haven't found it. Can anyone give me an alternative to it of tell me where I might find it? The thing is I found some but it has a yellow tint to it and seeing as I want to use it for balloons and magic I cant have a yellow one. It must dry clear.
Is there anyone who can help me?

Lorcan. :?

Welcome / santa
December 06, 2010, 07:14:45 PM
Hey guys,
I was sitting in my living room when I decided to make a sleigh. After a while I decided to make Santa in it and then I made a reindeer pulling it. It turned out OK but the sleight took too long and luck had a lot to do with it.Is there another way to make the sleigh quicker but not smaller or of less quality?
Please help,

Lorcan.
