Sorry but you lost me on this?

What I was getting at is if you restrict your supplies buy only giving a bag on arrival you could loose sales.

Example; The Semertex hart has a loger next than Qualatex, which oyu would only find out if you tried them both or somebody told you.

Mobile phone.

I assume you tell people to turn of their phones at the beginning.  Then they go off which annoys you.

Solution: Live with it or deal with it, how cares whether they are embarrassed, sorry it's their fault for being RUDE.

There are the table and chairs to sort out and put away, the tea/coffee area, cup cleaning etc and it would be nice to get a carry out with all the product but not essential.

Perhaps we need to charge an extra £5 per day and hire a cleaner?

Yes.

It's like turning up for a show and expecting the guest/booker to carry in your equipment & set it up for you.

This is a business event Graham, not a friendly get together.

Regards the free balloons on the floor...

You have to remember everybody works different so because you are neat & tidy the next person isn't. You would have a fit if you saw my working area.

When you view the workshop pictures do they not look more exciting if the area is a bit messy rather than those that are posed for in a tidy environment?

Giving a bag of balloons seems ok providing there are relative to the workshop.
You could loose out on sales though if somebody was prevented from using an alternative to what they normally use.

Talking during the workshop?

Wondering if this a problem because it is recorded on the DVD or is it just general net-working chit-chat?

Mobile Phones.

Easy.

#1 Fine them £20 there and then.
#2 Stop get everybody to look at them and embarrass them.

To me this is height of rudeness which just goes to prove they have not set their business up properly.

Cleaning Up Problem.

I see it as a business which I have paid to attend (not a freebee), whilst I have no problem in picking a few balloons up at the end I would have a problem with keep being told to clean up during the day. I would rather spend time net working.

I am sure if you had one clean up at the end it would still be a workable workshop although not as neat & tidy as you would want.

You also mentioned help put everything away, what is there to put away?

Hope this point help.

Think organizer is tying it on.

4 hours no break? I would insist one

20 two balloon creations per hour is doable with no stress

QuoteThey also suggest i bring 50 pre made pieces with me.

Suggest you add 60% of the fee to your quote.

4 hours = 80 balloons

2 1/2 hours = 50 balloons (which are made in your time so you should get paid for doing them)

Hope it helps Lorcan

Hi Dylan

Some downsides to consider....

Illness
Transport fails
Country comes to a stand still (remember last December)
You catch your hand in a door
Get a 3rd party claim & have no insurance
All your equipment gets stolen/lost
Your communication system fails (phone goes down/web site fails)
Your advertising goes wrong

Some may seen extreme but the exercise is to show you have looked at your weakness.

Hope it helps.

Tip.

What ever you make put them in a clear plastic bag....Add finishing touches like balloon flower to seal bag, streamers (like those used for bouquets of flowers)..... and the all important label with your contact details attached which either stuck onto the bag or attached to the balloon inside.

Anybody advise on how well the Amazon Kindle performs in bright sunlight abroad (Spain) as opposed to a paperback book.

Depends on how you market your site before you tell your prospects what your fees are.

Having a "call us to discuss" is old hat....They are using the web to find out information so should expect a quick web reply.

Prices from...are meaningless.

If you have the price on your site it will be a ball park figure, this cannot address the prospects specific needs.

Getting details of their needs so you can send them firm quotes will make you a better business. You will be a able to suggest other options and send them relevant pictures.

Look at how holiday companies find out their products needs and apply them to your industry.

All my prospects have to do is fill a small form in and they get an instant personalised email with my prices...They also get other information to help their planning needs.

As an alternative...

I have a friend that displays his prices on his web site which gives him good results, however I get a higher fee than his.

Have fun with them...All the stuff you do for kids will work for them.

Attach your creations to their walking frames or other items.

Did a one chaps walking stick with balloons wrapped around it.

Roger

In the pump plan I suggest "5amp 2 core cable 2 ft"

Believe me it is not going to melt or slow the unit down.

The biggest weakness is the switch which you will find burns out over years of use.

I have been using them for 12 + years so should know.
QuoteI had a few air slots in the box to keep everything cool, over enginered?

Yes

Parapsycho

It may look daunting but is very easy to build.

When you get all the parts lay them out as in the schematic.

Then attach one cable at a time....making the battery the last one.

If it is any help I am happy to put it together for you.

I'm aware you are not in the UK so suggest just send the relay to save postage cost.

What size cable do you suggest?

If you are worried about the noise box it up.

Make the cable/tube longer and place unit out of sight.

I use mine in every show and never complaint about the noise it makes.

Just tell them hands off they are mine...Until I decide to give them away.

If they manage to get one I insist it is returned before I go any further.

They soon catch on.

Once had a parent help herself from my table box so told here to return them as they are my property not hers.
