Large Balloon Sculptures Techniques Day–12th September 2011
Balloons and Tunes – Telephone 01827 316600
Unit 2 Alvecote Stud Farm, Robeys lane, Tamworth, B78 1AS
10 am – 5pm (ish)
Had lots of requests to do this again - so after talking to Graham and Roger we have agreed on 12th September as a date we can all make.
A repeat of the last day ... probably...
New designs and displays discussed... probably...
Large balloon sculptures are often seen as the more Artistic elements of the balloon Industry and still a big part in Events and Competitions. Who in the industry does not stop and admire them. Most are unique and elements in them have always had to be designed and created by the artist .
As the Balloon industry evolves we can these days create large sculptures with a larger number of techniques and sizes of balloons, with and without framework.. Too many to show and learn in one day. But we can try to offer and share a few, and discuss the extra elements needed and looked for in competition pieces.
As we are talking BIG Sculptures, space is need so we need to limit the numbers on the day – hopefully giving us all room to be creative as well. Who kows if over subscribed we may do it again!!
Paul Pearce of //http://www.ballonsandtunes.co.ukwill discuss and display the techniques involved in using SDS panels to create large sculptures ( wonder if it will be a castle again or something different!!)
Graham Lee of //http://www.grahamleesmagic.co.uk will be again part of the day demonstrating and sharing his dress making weaves and techniques. As some sculptures these days use this as frame work, so will help when deciding what sort of frame work you want to use when looking to create a your own large balloon sculptures..
Roger Daws of //http://www.iglobo.co.uk/ will be a part of the day demonstrating and sharing the use Framework with Wrap and film, with individual balloons. And showing how to create amazing sculptures from these designs.
All 3 classes are hands on... We know the techniques...
There will be time for us all to create and design within the day too, Techniques rather than a whole sculpture, but who knows where we will end up!
We are looking for it to be again based more on the care and share days Fun format and style of presentation and design rather than a full structured training day. So the cost to participants will be kept low at £60 per person – but do remember it's limited numbers
Travel lodge at M42 junction 10 is about 1.5 - 2 miles away and at present has rooms at £19 each if you want to book one for the night before. Or there is also a premier inn in the same area.
We will sort a buffet lunch for those who come and at the end of the day we have a carvery about 1 mile the other way to the travel lodge at present £3.69 each if you want a meal together before we all go home..
Send me an email booking your place – mailto:pam@balloonsandtunes.co.uk">pam@balloonsandtunes.co.uk – and I will send you a response confirming your place..
regards
Pam Pearce
