An interesting discussion. I have just had a new shed built in the garden too. aka the balloon studio!   Its fully insulated so hopefully, they should be okay throughout the winter and I have been told, just a heater on timer would be enough to keep the temp from freezing in the extreme winter. I am hopefully this is the solution to my storage issues as it can and has taken over the house at times.

I did get some old balloons from someone once that where stored in the garage and they were hard and inflexible.  A quick wizz in the tumble dryer at low heat and they came back to life again.

Ask me this question after the winter and I may have more advice.

Cheers, Ali.

Yes, its all a little depressing at the moment. How much everything is increasing each time you go to the wholesalers? I was taking the hit myself up to now, but I have just decided, its time to look at all the prices and unfortunately pass the increases on. You have to ask when is it going to stop as it is running wild at the moment.

That sounds terrible Mike.
It may look really cool to blow by mouth, but its something for everyone to think about.

Thanks for the offer of taking all the ladies in the village to the balloon jam.  Sadly, on this ocassion, they send their apologies. They are not nearly as fab and mad as we balloon people!

I love my balloon aprons. Cost about £40 each but they really can hold alot and you look the part too.
I have 4 of them and fill them up all at the one go while watching telly which takes well over an hour but it saves me alot of time between jobs.

Well I do know, that in life, whatever you do, you cannot please all of the people all of the time.
To all those involved in making these care and share days happen, thank you.
I know that I would not have developed and progressed in 3 years without the meetings of minds with like-minded people that you meet during these days, even with the help of my extensive DVD collection at home and many many hours of solitary practice.

I did come to the conclusion last year, that as your skills progress,  you will always learn less and less from each care/training day, its only to be expected.  At some point, the balance of these days will tip from learning to a social with a few little tips to go home with instead.

Do not be disheartened as we have a fabulous balloon commuity thanks to this site.

Cheers, Ali.

It was a fab venue choice last year for me. Only 5 mins off the M6 motorway junction 19, so easy to get there for anyone coming north or south from Liverpool, Manchester or Birmingham.
Hope it goes ahead as it was well attended last year.

Balloon Chit Chat / Like Mother Like Son
April 14, 2011, 07:18:32 PM
Just wanted to gush about my son who is 8. He entered a talent show at school and with 30 acts to compete against, he won the cup for best entertainer!  Obviously it brought a big tear of pride to my eye.
He made an octopus with google eyes and dressed his teacher as a pirate (with a little help from mum).
My point is, other than motherly pride, we forget that what is normal in our houses, balloons everywhere and pumps, balloon apron, fancy dress and the like is not perhaps normal in an average household and we forget the power balloons has on people.
It was a great reminder of the reaction they generate from people.
Well done son!
