Balloon Chit Chat / Re: balloon chat problems
July 03, 2009, 12:48:18 PM
I have problems on my computer at home.  It will let me log in, look around but when I go to post it asks for my id & password again but shows me logged in already at the bottom of the main page & won't let me log in to post.  However, on my computer at work (where I am now) I have no problems with being / staying logged in or posting.  And it automaticly keeps me logged in here too.

So Billy, you said you uninstalled IE8 & it worked fine?  I can't remember what I have at home.  I'll have to check tonight.  That could be the problem!

Graham, if I may, I'd like to make a suggestion for the July model of the month (or possibly a challenge??).  I know most of the twisters aren't from the US, but July 4th is our Independence Day.  I'd like to suggest the Model of the Month be something to represent America or a Freedom celebration.  Maybe not necessarily 1 specific model, but show us your best sculpture that you think represents this theme.

Some suggestions or things I think of associated with America & Independence Day:  flag, eagle, Statue of Liberty, cookouts (hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.), fireworks - just to name a few.

Quote from: "Danny the Idiot"So this month I thought it might be a great idea to discuss ideas - and how to come up with them for twisting.

Ideas and how do you come up with them

A lot of us buy DVD's and PDF's and they are really great. But how do you start creating your own designs?

Where does one start?

Maybe the more experienced creators can contribute here.

enjoy,
Danny  :geek:

Yes, please!  I am at a loss on this one.  I can recreate from photos of other people's work & obviously follow instructions, but I'm not the most creative when it comes to making my own designs - except maybe crazy hats.  Those I can usually come up with.  But no real figures of things.  Excellent topic for the month Danny!  I'm looking forward to everyone's answers!

Bonnie's "2fers" has a really cute horse you could probabaly use.  This is the one I made using her instructions.
It uses the following:
1 white undipped 321
1 white standard 321
1 white 260
1 pink 260 and 1 pink 160.

Then I added a geo stand. [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ] 2fers horse 1.jpg[/attachment:33yv27p5]

I like to ask the person & if they are just totally undecided then I show them a list to give them ideas & go from there.

Very Cute!!  Love the bird from UP.  The other thing in that last picture that I can't make out very well looks sorta like one of the critters in Ice Age.

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Re: I need a frog

Mark, thank you so much.  I pretty much had it right except that mouth.  I tried 2 pinch twists, I tried lock twisting 2 bubbles, I tried several different things but just couldn't seem to get that mouth to look right.  Now I know.

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Re: Sport balloons
June 19, 2009, 06:17:08 PM
What about a golf club or hockey stick or puck?  Those might be pretty simple.  Or maybe a tennis racket??  Maybe an american football - a simple 4 bubble roll in mocha brown then paint on the stitches with a white marker.  I'm at the "real job" with no balloons so I can't try anything but I don't think those would require much work to figure out.
