Balloon Chit Chat / Weather Watchers
March 16, 2015, 09:28:16 PM
I filmed the pilot episode of a Channel four Gogglebox programme last Friday. Was an interesting thing to do, and hopefully it will get commissioned as a series.

It has a provisional title "Weather Watchers" as it is about how peoples jobs are affected by the weather, and I made them this balloon depicting the different sorts of weather. The rainbow was a practice piece for a St Patrick's Day window display I an doing tomorrow, put to a good use :)

The cow is there as you can tell weather conditions by observing cows. If the cows are standing up it has been raining, if the cows are sitting down it is going to rain, and if the cows are wet it is raining now !

PS Grrrrr.....just noticed I forgot to put any ears on the cow  :?

Not two subjects you would immediately put together, but I had a Christening Party Sunday lunchtime, followed in the afternoon by a Birthday Party at a venue just 100yds away. The Birthday Balloon for that was a Minecraft Creeper

When Rob came to visit earlier this week, he made this lovely panda.  The head design also works well for Hello Kitty (as well as grumpy Cat)

Rob used a 350 for his panda, the Hello kittys I made used 646's

Balloon Chit Chat / Just a little get together
February 24, 2015, 04:15:38 AM
Next Tuesday (March 3rd) we are having a little get together at the sea-side

If you are West Country Way and fancy a trip to Weymouth, would be lovely to see you xx

PS It's not very warm here at the moment, so we may have to seek warmth in a pub, if that is ok with you  :D

Balloon Chit Chat / Searching for Scooby
February 21, 2015, 01:50:06 AM
There is such an amazing wealth of information here thanks to Graham and all the fabulous people here that share their talent so freely, and it is so easy to find this information by just using the search button.

I had to make a Scooby Doo. I had never made a big one before and it was short notice (Called 10.00pm for 9.00am following day)

Using the button here I found a design I could do at that short notice, so anyone looking for help here with any design you may be asked for, just do a bit of research and use the information that is here  ;)

Hi all.

Hope you all had a good weekend.

I made these to go out on Saturday. With the Hulk, the Mum saw one I made from Ken Stillmans site, and wanted it. Unfortunatly somewhere along the line I unsubscribed, so had to make it up as I went along, Not as good on the torso, but I was pleased with the head.

I think it was a success from the picture the Mum sent me  :D

I have been playing with simple ideas that look fun, and rather than get rid of the balloons, I put this one out by where I live  :D

I made this little pirate over the weekend, and thought you might like to see it.

When I first made him, I used a scrap of 260 down the front for his chest, but it didn't look quite right so I replaced it with a 360 scrap, and really like the beer belly look it gave him  :D

Hi All,

Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year

While I was looking on the internet for ideas for Christmas, I found this website

http://funny.pho.to/

They have loads of different backgrounds, display ideas, and special effects to add to your photos. It is also very easy to use, and free

I used a Snow effect for my Christmas card, a light effect one to enhance the pic with big Santa, and I love the balloon one I found last night for my "everyday" picture

PS There is also a way of removing wrinkles, whitening teeth and freshening up your skin, but that doesn't seem to be working  :D

I was asked to make a couple of big sculptures, as well as twisting for a radio station Christmas Party, a couple of weeks ago, and as it would be something new for me, I decided to go the décor way.

Using Sue's instructions from her blog, I made the Santa, and then made the Christmas Tree from what I learnt.

Now I am not ballooning (I had an accident a couple of weeks ago   ) I have been reading through Sue's blog, and WOW there is so much there !!

Sue gives instruction, ideas, advice on how much to charge, help planning an event, and loads more. I really would recommend looking through it, and thank you so much Sue for so freely sharing all your experience and practical advice  :D  :D  :D

Picture Gallery / All in the detail
November 29, 2014, 11:36:26 AM
Hi All

I had 2 of Ken Stillman's "Awesome Bouquets" going out this morning, so I thought I would show the difference a bit more time and effort makes.

The first blue and white one was for a friends charity night, and I donated it for the raffle. It was made in the charity's colours, and looked OK. This one used the stem pinch-twisted at the end for the flower centre.

The second one I used some yellow scraps to make the flower centres. It takes a bit longer to make, but I am sure you can see how much better it looks

The little details really do make a difference  :D  :D
