Personal Opinion - I have owned 2 Mac Pumps for coming on one year.  Next year I may be purchasing a third pump.  I have not had any issue with the base coming off of the pump, so I am thinking that has to do with the older models.  If you have questions, feel free to PM for a quick response.

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Re: Line work?

I would recommend making a list of creations you know how to make so when you are twisting if you start getting a little to repetitive in creations you can refer to the list to know how to mix it up a little.  My first time twisting last year in ages, I totally forgot some of the most basic creations as I hadn't been twisting for so long.  It wasn't that I didn't know how to make them, I simply forgot what I could make when I was put on the spot.

Odd tips... bring hand lotion (fragrence free) and a small bottle of drinking water.  Take care of yourself as it will make the day more enjoyable.  If you are there all day, make sure to take a break and eat.  I am horrible at taking time to eat - my wife thankfully won't let me twist myself thin.   :D

Have a good day and enjoy your twisting!

thanks for the comments and compliments.

Monkeys --- yeah - they sure do look like them, oops!  lol
Busy - yup, that was day 1, today was day 2 (female gymnastics competitions - 16 hours), and tomorrow is day 3 with the cheerleader competitions!  Thankfully they only want us for 6 hours.  Wished it was wages, but pay per creations actually did us extremely well today and I think I would totally do it again!
Interesting, absolutely.  I had plenty of fun little jokers to tease and some of them gave it right back at me.

I hope you enjoy my creation attempts.  The creations were used to decorate the judges' tables and later given away as trophies to the winners of the specific events.  I learned a little about gymnastics while figuring out how to make the creations.  Enjoy and forgive any event misspellings...!

Please forgive the poor faces on the creations - ran out of time on the creations.

I was absently doing stuff around the house when I heard an advertisement that caught my attention.  I was unable to find the preview online, but I found this:  http://tv.msn.com/tv/series/the-unpoppables/  Don't know if it will be any good or not --- but I saw balloon twisting.

That question should be answered from both views --- creator and spectator.

From the view of a creator, the moment a creation goes beyond basic creations and requires thought and focus, I feel the creation begins to fit into the category of a sculpture.

From the view of a spectator, if a creation has an awe factor, the creation is fit to be described as a sculpture.  I am sure I am not the only one who has heard about a child stashing away a balloon into a safe dresser drawer to protect it.  It is a matter of how the creation is accepted, toy versus treasure.
