Balloon Chit Chat / Re: New Pump Arrived
January 19, 2011, 04:26:50 AM
The only pumps I own in my house currently are Mini Mac Light Pumps (I cannot compare it to others in short).  The pumps during ideal weather perfectly inflates most 260Qs completely with one smooth pump (slow or unsteady motions allow air to escape).  There are very few 260Qs I have tried pumping up that the pump does not like (silver is one - stiff balloon and leaves a short tail).

If you are having trouble with the tip complicating blowing up larger balloons (i.e. 360/660), use a tip I learned somewhere on this forum of taking some balloon scraps and placing it over the lower section of the nozzle.  I have done this to the point that it nearly makes a perfect seal with a 646 balloon.  The top half of the nozzle is bare for use with 160s and 260s.  This idea has not complicated my efforts of blowing up the smaller balloons with this pump.

I would offer more comments if I had them, but the basic story is this is my first floor pump and I am glad to have something that does a great job.

Wonderful creation --- it has inspired my next creation project for a gymnastics competition I will be twisting at.  Thanks!

Quote from: "Graham Lee"Nat, I'm sitting here with a smile on my face. Your bike looks a very good effort and well done for working out how to attach pictures to the site.

Thanks for the compliment.  Cat was spazzing out as I squeaked that one into creation, running back and forth --- I am amazed he didn't climb up the walls!  :)

Here is my attempt at the bike.  Now to see if I can properly attach a picture on my first try.

Welcome / Hello from Montana (USA)

My name is Nathaniel and if I was to rate my ability, I would probably list myself at intermediate.  I started up balloons in the mid 90's learning from my father, but never went far beyond basic one balloon creations.  Last summer (2010), I started up ballooning at Farmers' Markets inspired by creations I found on youtube.  I found a big demand and as such, I have officially bought a mass collection of balloons and many DVDs to help expand my knowledge (10-15 dvds now?).  I love ballooning and I love the children who are waiting for the balloons.  I have been blessed with children who are patient and polite.

I have two major goals for next year...  1.  Go to a balloon jam in the states (probably T-Jam in Idaho) and 2.  Design my own website that has a professional appearance.

Next two DVDs I plan to purchase (Christmas money):
Angels and Ballowers and Bearoons, Oh My!
& Oodles of Lootles

Thanks for this forum and I look forward to browsing from now on as a member.
