We have jus booked the second day in our diary and it will be in Birmingham on Wed 14th Oct.
The cost will be the same as the first one held in Banstead at £110 for the early bird special.

We are offering to anyone that attended the first day a special 50% discount if you would like to attend the second day as both Mike and I feel that there was probably too much information to take on board in one day.
We will also supply any added notes or information to you as well.

For comments and details on the first day; viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1265

and to book for the second children's seminar day; http://sempertexballoons.co.uk/index.ph ... &parent=12

PERFORMANCE MAGIC DAY

Have been putting this together over the last few weeks with a good friend and we've decided that It's about time we shared with everyone what we think makes a good children's entertainer. We will be discussing everything at the day from finding a character, insurance, good advertising and giving away our whole acts that we've been using for the past 20/25 years from funny lines, why we use certain props, how to create added laughter & tension to your show, why the flow of a show is very important and everything else to help others make a success of being the best children's entertainer possible. This is the very quick advert that we've come up with to promote the days at Blackpool next weekend and if you have any questions then please fire away & we'll try to answer them for you.

Just looking through all the old model of the months for some inspiration for this months challenge and I've noticed that it looks like less and less people seem up for the challenge.

Are the models too difficult? shall I put up some easier ones to work out?

Suggestions are always welcome, this months is a bit late due to Don being over etc.

Jack has kindly agreed to give up some of his time to answer the questions this week on balloon chat and some from the Uk will probably be wondering.....................who's Jack :D
Well once you've seen his portfolio and see that he won twister of the year 2009 at twist and shout this year then you'll know who Jack is  ;)
I met Jack for the first time at twist and shout and he's very dedicated and focused on his work, so please feel free to ask him some questions about his twisting life and his other job as a magician as I believe Jack still works in a magic shop in Southern California.
Portfolio details although be warned there are 34 pages of balloons and you will need some time to view everything; http://jackmagic1.balloonhq.com/

He also has a socal twisting group; http://www.socalballoonartists.com/about.html

The next performance day will be held in watford on Wed 16th Sept from 10 till 6.
As this is not a sponsored event there will be a small charge of £10 to attend the day with a minumum of 10 people at each day with no £10 balloon voucher.
Danny Schlesinger http://www.circoridiculoso.co.uk/ who I personally rate very highly will be running the days & I'll be there to pick up a few tips as well.

Datails about this day are;

The Idiot Inside - and letting them out, for Balloon Artists

Danny Schlesinger will be teaching his workshop on The Idiot Inside and letting them out. He has taught this workshop for corporate clients, teachers, performers and balloon artists. It is an interactive, physical and participatory experience that will benefit both newcomers to performing and the more experienced who wish to learn something new and usable.

Danny will be looking at four main areas;
Comfort
Confidence
Play
Being Ridiculous

How to apply this to balloon modelling? How do you perform and balloon model?

The day will be a series of games, exercises and fun.

A thank you letter from the party held in Birmingham in November where Danny was a mystery instructor.

"I would like to thank you for your help at the last balloon day. Your "exercise" has left a profound mark. Before it I felt I had lost most of my confidence, well I thought I had. Now I have realised I can work on the why's and fix them. So once again thank you from the bottom of my heart - you have inspired me to make changes that were probably a long time coming and will help a lot in the future. "

The video was recorded about three years ago and was done in a top floor apartment in London.
It was fun to do as both the production company and the band were very appreciative of our artform + they also bought lunch and provided tea & coffee all day

The Darlington day was going to be on the 8th July but I had a job in the diary already for the evening in London so we are planning on moving to the 1st July, fingers crossed this is still OK for everyone.
For some reason last year we had trouble filling the date and it was very nearly cancelled so could I ask everyone to forward details to any one that may be interested in coming along for a fun filled day with three lectures including the surprise mystery lecturer.
The day will be the usual £10 if pre-booked with a £10 voucher to spend on balloons at the day so making it another free day kindly sponsored by Sempertex Balloons.
Will be putting the booking details on the site ASAP.
