The next balloon jam that I'll be doing will be on the 15th January, at the Globe inn in Saltford, Bath. This will now become a Club/guild for twisters, but still need a name for it any idea's.
We will be meeting the 2nd Thursday off every month unless conflicts with something else that is going on or not enough twisters can make it. then the date will be moved.

I'm putting together a bi monthly news email for what I call my warm list (people who booked me or enquired about me and opted in to receive emails from me) but am now looking into the delivery system. I have found Groupmail and Peter has put me on to incredimail but was wondering about what other options or other things I should consider.
If you chose to do the same then remember You must hide the emails you send it to so bcc and you must give them the option to unsubscribe.
On spam emails do not unsubscribe otherwise they will know your email is active and sell your details to others.
That's about the most that I know, Please if you know anything else related to this topic then please post.

Events. Balloon, Magic, Etc / 17th July 2008
May 14, 2008, 10:32:00 AM
Next balloon jam in the west will be on the 17th July (1st year yay) will most probably be at the Globe inn, Saltford near Bath. it looks like some twisters from Cardiff and the Cotswold will be coming this time, hopefully break the 20 mark ;) all you need to bring is a pump and balloons, will start with a hat challenge then work on 2 basic line models for beginners, then probably a weave. But most of the time your free to twist and network 8-)

I fill I should be writing this to music..... that's better
I use to be a scout leader and worked for Royal Mail delivering Wokingham until one day at work I was asked if I would like to help with Postman pat, as I was good with kids, at an event ( I didn't know I had to wear it) all went well in fact they keep asking me until I took it over I also became a ambassador for Royal mail given talks to schools and option formers.
It was 1999 I did my first party for my daughter, this was just games as I didn't know anything about balloon's or Magic, it went really well so well my friends were asking me to do their kids parties and so it started to grow. I went to Jugglemania I think it was called near Kingston and they put me on to Davenports in London where I got my first magic tricks and a puppet cat ( black and white) don't know how people heard of me but I started to get bookings, I knew I wasn't that good so I would over compensate making every child a 3 twist dog before I went to the parties to give out at the end.... £60 for a 2 hr party how bad is that, but it was just a hobby.
I then got the millenium employee of the year award for work in the committee, so yr 2000 I had to make a choose stay as a postman and part time PR and parties or go for a higher paid job in Royal mail. I choose to stay as a postman.
I then had my first encounter with balloons, a clown called Bigfoot told me about a shop just outside Wokingham I forgot the name of it but it did juggling and kites, the lady there ran a circus skill workshop every month where I met A balloon twister I wish I could remember his name and he showed me some of the things that could be done with them.
2001 I moved with my family to Trowbridge in Wiltshire got a job transfer I then looked around again for something like the circus workshop but found the Bath circle of magicians, I joined which surprised me as I had very little knowledge of magic, But on the first meeting I met Mel Harvey and paid for a workshop into marketing and magic then a year on I became president (only a small club) at this point I was still only doing the basic balloons. I met mike stoke who showed me somethings every time I picked up my order.
Then it happened I think it was 2004 I got an email from Graham inviting me to a Care and Share day in Bristol, I went and met some great twisters including Graham since then I have gone from strength to strength and hope to continue to do so after leaving my job with Royal Mail in October 2006.
Sorry I went on a bit.

Website "Chat" Help / Web Hosting
April 09, 2008, 04:08:43 PM
To make this a useful resource I think it's important to keep things seperated so have started this topic to review options.
This topic is so we can do reviews on how easy web builders are to use and what they have or have not got to offer.
I have got someone to make my site but costed me £300 I'm happy with it and I have got my money back from it already but can only give his details out instead of a review, http://www.turtlereality.co.uk/ as he done it for me.

mrsite
I have made a web site for my magic club http://www.bathcircleofmagicians.com/ using mrsite http://www.mrsite.com/ not the pro one. I have found it easy to use and it fills the whole screen the tools are easy to use and 2 of my friend have used it as well http://www.divinator.co.uk/index.htm and http://www.thebeautyboutique.org. I haven't spent a lot of time on the site as I wanted it to look simple so anyone could keep it going if I couldn't.
This site also lets me see how many people have viewed the site and can create an email account and redirect them to your personal account, also has a tool for putting you on Google search, it has it's own forum so you can chat with others with the same program ( I haven't been on this yet) and talk about problems. online shop I think using paypal and some other bits and bobs.
Mr site costs £35 please let me know if you want more info.

Weebly
http://www.weebly.com/ I have looked at this software that Cash magic is using easy to use but a bit limiting but have only put together a front page so not sure on what it can do Cash magic could you do a review.
Weebly is free

if any one else uses any other web building stuff please do a review here ;)

with the avatar instead of compressing it re size it, if you right click the image then "edit" then "re size" you will see 2 boxes side by side the 1st box put 480 the 2nd 280 then "OK" don't forget to save, if you need the same image for other thing but not that size click "file" then "save as" and change the name of file. hope this helps
