Balloon Chit Chat / Re: Balloons as a reward in school?

I have just started a part time job as a School Premises Manager (caretaker in old money) and I will plan to wear a different Christmas hat for the last week of term, should be fun.
I have been asked for a sculpture occaisionally for different events, it is a great way of showing what you can do.

Quote from: "lowemagic"I was at the MetroCentre, Gateshead.
It was basically one hour of twisting, but I was asked to quote for two hours as I had to be there 30 minutes before people were allowed in, and had to stay half an hour afterwards.

Glad someone got something out of it.
I emailed Denise who gave me the agency contact who I emailed and heard nothing back.

It looks like an arm mounted catapault to me at first glance, but I see Graham has beaten me when I scrolled down

Off Topic.......... plus Hidden Talents / Movember
November 16, 2014, 04:46:35 PM
Hi all

I hope it is ok to post this hear, if it isn't then just shout at me.
A couple of years ago I did Movember with the company I worked for, this year I am doing it off my own back and it is a bit more personal as I have had a member of our family affected by mental health issues and one of my brother in laws is currently going through chemo treatment and battling cancer. Below is the blurb from the Mo team and links to my page, any help would be great whether it is a donation or just spreading the word.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this.

For the 30 days of Movember I've committed to changing the face of men's health, I'm asking you to support my efforts by making a donation at http://mobro.co/johnhunter-haschka.

We need to take action, as the current state of men's health is unacceptable:

·      Around the world, men die on average 6 years earlier than women - there's no biological reason
·      Every hour one man dies from prostate cancer in the UK
·      Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men ages 25-49 years
·      Tragically, 12 British men died from suicide today. Tomorrow, 12 more will die too. On average, 12 men die everyday from suicide in the UK

The Movember Foundation is working around the clock and around the world to improve the lives of men and their families affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems. They can't do this without our support, so please support my efforts to make a difference.

If you're interested in learning more about the programmes Movember funds please click here.

There's a lot riding on my efforts this Movember and I'd really appreciate your support.

Together, we can have an everlasting impact on the face of men's health.

Thanks

John

Quote from: "Mighty Mike"do either of these pumps have a valve? so you can do two pumps for larger balloons - 350's or 646's?

I have a MacPump and it has a valve. Iit is basically a 'superball' in the section just below the outlet valve and it stops the air returning, not sure if it was origionally there from manufacture but was when I got my pump.

I have to say I think my MacPump is brilliant and wouldn't be without it, I also don't find it a problem moving around with it and it is nice and sturdy. It is I think slightly taller than a filbert which is better for me when standing.

I think it varies from place to place and person to person.
I have a menu board of sculptures and it starts at 50p and goes up to £6.
It works for me and i get a reasonable amout of work from it
