Balloon Chat Challenge / Re: Cars the Movie
March 27, 2008, 09:17:57 PM
Since I do not have a lot of red 5 inch balloons I tried to remake it with 260's only. This was with what I came up with, two reds, a white scrap and a black for the tires.
It's a prototype but fast to make and I think kids will recognize it (have to test that though...)

Balloon Chat Challenge / Cars the Movie
March 27, 2008, 09:14:24 PM
I was asked for Lightning from the movie cars. Never heard of it (education problem, I know) so I watched the movie and looked for a model on the internet but could not find any. So I made my own.
This version uses a white and red 5 inch balloon and a red 260 for the frame and a black 260 for the tires.

No, didn't get it. I think you accidentally pressed Save instead of Submit.
It happened to me a few times already, these buttons are not there where you would expect them to be. If that is the case, just open the email and press submit and there she goes........

About joining the group, are you sure? I'm not English and I have a terrible accent when I speak English. Maybe you guy's prefer to stay together as fellow countryman (and woman).

"the extension bmp is not allowed"
any ideas what that means?

Graham Lee

Pictures are made in a certain format. Every format has it's pro's and con's. For a lot of pictures the JPG format is used (we call the picture then Example.jpg)
There are a million format that can be used, like TIFF. PNG. JPG and BMP.
In case a bitmap picture is used the picture is called Example.bmp
These extensions are only visible if you have order Windows to show it, the standard setting is that you don't see the extensions.
This forum can only process pictures that use the jpg format and the png format.

So if you have a bitmap (bmp) picture this means you cannot post it? No.
Use irfanview (I have written before about it) to open the picture. Irfanview reads hundreds of formats. When the picture is visible, goto File, choose Save as and then you see at the bottom a square that tells you a format that the picture will have when you save it. Choose at the drop down arrow the format you want (JPG or PNG) and do not alter the settings (unless you know what you are doing but in that case you won't need this tutorial) and press OK and the picture is saved in the new format.
The picture is now converted from a format to another format, like from BMP to JPG

I think you do just fine.
I emailed you a manual of how to do it step by step.
But if I look at the things you post it looks to me that you resize the pictures to a bigger size instead a smaller size. And then the picture quality goes down the drain.
If the picture is smaller then 480x600, don't resize!
Only if it's bigger.
In the manual I send you I show you how you can see the actual size.

It looks like a woodpecker with that beak to me!
I discovered that I don't have pictures of birds except this one, so here it is.
I will make a bird as soon as I can. Does a penguin qualifies as a bird? It does, doesn't it?

LOL.
You have used the same picture again. That original one is smaller so you enlarge the picture. That is why the copy quality is so bad......

Ah, no it was two weeks ago. But since then I went to the "Ralph Dewey Show" and I was sold. I had so much fun.......
So I talked to my wife and I'm pretty sure that I'll go.
Now I'm looking for a place to stay the night. If I go to IBS and let them put me on the list then I have roommates who I don't know and I would prefer to share a room with people I know. I am checking out my options...... maybe I can find someone that I know and is alone too.

Quote from: "bickers"And wim what about when tying geos? lol  :D

Haven't you heard Bickers? It was not me but the Geo's were wrong. Even Ralph Dewey could not tie them .......
Apparently I had the "old style" Geo's which had very short necks. I tried tying the new Geo's, no problem!!!

And yes, moisturizing is all I do too.

I use some creme to keep my hands from being effected from the talcum powder. But other then that I noticed that it is a matter of practice, in the beginning I had trouble when I twisted for an hour and at my last gig I twisted for 5 hours without a problem.
