I can vouch that the dress Thelma had in the window of the bistro attracted a lot of interest - it was gorgeous

Good responses so far to an important topic.

For my part I still have a day job so I have to use up a days holiday to attend a lecture which mans that I have to be selective and sometimes it's just not possible to get that particular day off because of work commitments.

Cost of travel is a consideration too but provided I get some good workable ideas from the day I believe it is money well spent, I think I've come away from most of these days with something that adds a little more value to my offer (And before anyone says it... I know I started at bargain basement level but I'm nearly up to poundland level now  :P :)  )

I love the interaction on the days, just jamming improves your knowledge and technique but the lecturers add so much more - yes you learn new models and techniques but you also get to tap into years of experience in all the other stuff that can set you apart from other modellers - performance, business, handling audiences, dealing with customers, different ways of carrying your balloons and eating cakes, and little tweaks on selling /publicising your work.

I'm not sure what to suggest for the future -it's the nature of what we do that some people will be desperate to do large stuff but some of us are not interested or feel it is beyond our capabilities at the moment but there isn't anywhere else in UK that I know of that this sort of session will be available for those who are interested.

It would be a miracle if a single format could accommodate everyone's wishes the days do have to evolve and continue to offer new stuff, I do like the idea of a super session - almost a mini convention -this could broaden the appeal of the sessions to a much wider audience
