Got asked for a Kangaroo from a friend who owns the local chippy, his wife is turning 40 and he's taking her to AUS for it, just as a surprise gift. He wants it to hold a 40 balloon in one hand and the tickets in the other when she opens the box. I made this ages ago from a video tutorial on youtube, (I can provide a link if you like) and was seeing if I could still make it....I could. What do you lot think?

PS: I know, I had to trim the feet before the photo but forgot. It went to a neighbor kid and the feet were trimmed.

Quote from: "Neil Drummond"Sorry for the late notice, but unfortunately the Glasgow Jam scheduled for tomorrow is cancelled due to a lack of venue.  I'll keep trying to get a venue for future though.

Who's all coming to the Jam in Edinburgh on the 19th? I'll be there, as will a mate of mine who's a twister....just getting started in childrens entertainment but a good guy.

Quote from: "Dave Beverley"out of interest, who did you get the yoda design from, it looks really good?

As much as I would love to take credit for it it was made by El Chuchito de Globo from http://www.balloon-animals.com forum.

oooh, I've just got a commission for a guardsman - l love your design, mind if I use this as inspiration??

Really like the way you've done your Yoda head too.

Thanks for sharing.

Might mention that to hold the arms down to the side like that I used fishing string otherwise they popped up a bit and he didn't hold the position of attention. :)

If something I have made inspires you it would be awesome for you to use it in your own figures. The guardsman is one I am very proud of. :) The yoda head though I can't take credit for, I used someone elses picture to make it. :)

Hey Neil, loved the Jam and seeing everyone, even if I had to work that night it was still a blast. Totally chuffed and can't wait for the next one. By the way, learning to make those squares was awesome, made my first bit of clothing using them....sort of. Is armour clothes and a sheild? Gonna do something huge for Holloween I think this year. And my balloon magic subscription is away so fingers crossed. :)

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Re: electric balloon pump..
December 02, 2011, 10:34:32 AM
I bought a small pump used for inflatable mattresses, it blew the balloon up too quickly and they popped, so I tookn out the pump motor and replaced it with a smaller one, changed the battery to a smaller size (2AA's) and a bit cable with pressure switch so that pressing the nozzle down activates the pump...now I have one that is about the size of a 1/2 20oz bottle of cola that works almost perfectly.

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Balloon arch Question
December 02, 2011, 10:21:54 AM
Hiya twisters,

Not sure if any of you have done many arches but I was thinking of expanding to doing them myself. Now I have made a couple of them using helium and ribbon with weights at either end but these are expensive to sell (cost effective for me at 120 cshells). But most of that is for the helium. So I have a friend and long time artist who suggested I use tent poles...the big fiberglass tent poles. I thought that this was a good idea but and having trouble with the length of the tentpoles I will need for a single arch. Can anyone help? I'm thinking 18ft would make a decent 7ft arch but might need to go as far as 24ft worth.

The Arch I mean-
