Balloon Chit Chat / Posting balloons
July 15, 2012, 02:32:10 PM
Hi there everyone

Hope this finds you all keeping well :)

It's my nieces' birthdays in a couple of weeks and I wanted to send them a balloon through the post - they live in Plymouth- 4 hours from me :(

Has anyone any experience of posting balloons and making sure they arrive in one piece?

Was wondering about Royal mail next day Or a courier

Thanks in advance for your help

Picture Gallery / Red and Blue Macaw

Hi everyone

Inspired by yesterday I wanted to have a go at making my own parrot but I don't have any black hearts so I scoured the internet looking for a parrot without a black beak and came up with the red and blue macaw:

Here is my interpretation.  Its not exactly perfect but then I made it sitting in the car on my lunch break - and yes Darren I had to wind the windows down!!! LOL

I dont think the beak is quite right - a little wide across the front but when I tried using less air the heart just looked odd??? I also wanted to add black to the bottom of the beak like in the picture above but thought it was a bit much to sharpie that amount of balloon.  Any suggestions as to how I could do this gratefully received :)

And the wing detail from behind:

Thanks for taking the time to look and give feedback :)

Welcome / Hi there
July 06, 2012, 12:12:28 PM
Hi there

My name is Sonia and I live in Kent (UK).  I found this amazing forum when I ordered my first set of balloons from Graham.  I have been loitering in the background for a couple of weeks but thought I should pop up and say "Hello" to everyone.

I have just started balloon twisting.  I am a working mother of 4 children and my 5 year old twins, Archie and Harley, love love love balloons.  When we were at Butlins recently I spent ages watching the balloon twister and thought I'd love to be able to do that.  One of my twins Harley can make a pretty cool 6 petal flower (not bad for tiny tiny hands) so I bought some balloons and a couple of DVDs and have been twisting about 3 weeks now.  Must say its addictive and I have spent hours drawling over some of the amazing pictures on the internet.

I am attaching a couple of pictures of Balloons I have done this week (They have been resized to 600px but if I haven't done it properly please let me know!!) - I am sure I will get better with time!! and from all the wonderful inspiration on here :) but the children are really enjoying what I am making.  The flower basket was for my mother-in-law who has just come out of hospital and the monkey for my better half :)
