Balloon Chit Chat / Re: balloon popping
April 07, 2014, 01:07:37 PM
I had 3 green 350's - Sempertex - pop on my over the weekend - was driving me batty! Not sure if it's related to colour, age or brand or possibly heat as well. But my Qualatex 260's of the same age have (touch wood!) all been fine.

Balloon Chit Chat / Re: News Page
April 07, 2014, 01:06:16 PM
Quote from: "Graham Lee"The home page is meant to be like a news page, I try to update it once a week with balloon related news, I always ask if anyone would like a plug for any shows or balloon related topics. Always happy to give a plug and a link to help others.

Do you mean it's over whelming as it goes on and on and on etc, or we need a little more white space?

Yes that it goes on for so long. It is interesting to read, but difficult to follow and have an idea of the date etc. I often have a look through and think 'oh that looks good' and realise it has already happened etc.

That's brill - I am half decided whether to buy this book or not.

It isn't cheap, but that is to be expected with such a select market who might buy it. But is it really as good as I hear?

Haha that is fantastic - I think I will have to try these! A sure way to make manly balloons!

What a great idea.

I just tried to add our local park which is very good, but I can't find the orange pin it tells me to use on the map page?

Aw I think it's great! Good job on the plant pot too.

I might try and have a go if you don't mind? Really need to practise weaving.

Hey Dawn :-) I am pretty new to balloon twisting and face painting too. Although I prefer the balloons. (They usually sit still).

Hope you like it here!

Balloon Chit Chat / Re: News Page

Hey Graham.

Looks good - but if I may add my suggestion?

The homepage is a little too cluttered. It is a bit overwhelming.
I think it may look better having the homepage as just that. Have links to your shops, forum and a short introductory statement then put all the news on a blog page or a news page.

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Another 'storage' question
April 06, 2014, 02:46:27 PM
I know there are many out there, but I can't really find what I'm after so please excuse the new thread.

How do you store your balloons in the house? Not an apron, but your other balloons?

I'm sick of tripping over bags of balloons and things as they are just on the floor of my office really as I keep getting them out.

I thought about one of the 'really useful' storage towers - you know the ones in Hobbycraft / Rymans. Something like this; http://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/u ... towers.php

But they are REALLY expensive for what is essentially a plastic box.

I then found this thread;
home-bargains-t7629.html?hilit=balloon

And it looks good - but how do you store your balloons in it? Do you use empty kitchen rolls to keep them together? Or just cram them in?
Anyone know where I can get something like this now? Can't find it on the website suggested - did find one on eBay but it's nearly £20 now.

Fairly pleased - only tried weaving a couple of times before and that was about a year ago.

Used an online tutorial but didn't like the handle he made so improvised my own.
