I made my Mum a balloon bouquet (borrowed straight from a photo Billy Wiz posted on Facebook!)

Well you already know I'm going. If some other twisters are going I may well just bring balloons and no paint  ;)

Balloon Decor / Re: ribbon cutting
March 12, 2012, 01:27:50 PM
Well Roger on here has a ribbon cutting machine. I've not seen it but as I say I'm not that concerned as I don't do huge jobs that need that amount of ribbon.

You've just shattered my illusion!  I thought I had made up my own design of elephant but it turns out that I've been making this one all along   Oh well I couldn't make it at the time and now the kids love it. I do still want to try and find one with a smaller body so I can perhaps make larger ear as I find with me it can be hit and miss as I always make the head first.

However, everyone is always impressed with this little guy so total win/win.

I've done the same on my slide & size before but each entire wrap round is the length but it does save me doing too much exercise  ;)

There is already a machine out there for cutting ribbon but as with most things in the decor industry it goes on a very long list of things to get eventually and prioritised. Some things make it into our workshops and others we decide aren't worth it for the time they save and I suspect this is one of those things. I personally couldn't justify yet another gadget to take up space and when I can do it for free already fairly quickly.

No I saw that too but then posts made after it were back to the same old nonsense!

Balloon Chit Chat / Re: Balloon suppliers?

Up Up and Away have a great selection and I use them a lot but they do have a minimum first order (at least they did when I joined up) and a £500 per year minimum spend. No issues for me as they have a great selection and I get my gas from them. I am probably going to go next week to pick up some stuff for a couple of upcoming jobs so if anyone wants me to grab them anything while I'm there please do shout and I'll post it on for you at cost (rather than £10).

Thing is his attitude was shocking from the start and I suspect that no amount of everyone being nice would have changed that.

Would really love to come but Wednesdays are a complete no go for me now. Nevermind, maybe next time.

Balloon Chit Chat / Re: Do I need Insurance?

Still a lot more to my budget at present. I'm currently paying £160 for NABAS membership which includes PLI & Employers but in fairness I don't have employees so don't really need the insurance. I'll make a note of their name and give them a ring nearer the time. Do you happen to know if they have kit cover? Just thinking in case my kit gets stolen or someone breaks a frame?

Snurb would you mind sharing with me what you pay for your insurance? I'm looking around this year as I just need insurance and unless membership to NABAS or BAPIA works out cheaper I am going to have to forgo membership of an organisation!

A Gruffalo, why didn't you know. His eyes are orange, his tongue is black and he has purple prickles all over his back"! Excellent Gruffalo but does he have purple prickles?
