Hello!

I will be arriving in Amsterdam in about a week. I busk with balloons, balloon twisting, modeling, clowning and usually people (especially the kids ask for balloons). I don't charge them money but have a box where they can put coins in if they want to support me.

Last summer I've worked like this in Berlin and London (Southbank, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square) and did pretty well, not having any problems with authorities. This year I couldn't do anything in London because recently they stated that this is street trade and not busking. I have a friend who still twists baloons in Berlin and it's ok.

I want to ask you if you know what Amsterdam is like for balloon artists. Can you busk with balloons in the street? What are the busking allowed streets?

Hope I get an answer since my money is going down and I need to work quick.

Thanks a lot!

Not sure about busking but have a word with some of them working over there.

Head for Dam square.

The guy that plays the bagpipes was was very helpfully with advice a few years back.

Another idea there are loads of restaurants which I am sure would love your balloons.

There is a large area of these like Covent garden but bigger.

Have a word with the manager show them what you can do and suggest you work for tips.

Tip: Make sure you have a badge that says I work for tips or similar to get the idea across to the punters.

Enjoy yourself and let me know how you get on.
