And so many people have looked to see what the topic is too!  but this is hard to discuss because we all have different views on this:

I think its important that the item I want to show is central and in the best detail on the picture, where my husband will centre the picture to what i call a snapshot and he calls framing

We'll I can't say much about taking photos, but I have some things that are important for me.

If possible I try to use the same background. For me it's my doughters carpet (I'm still looking for something else). I do that becourse I like to have one colour in the back and no other things, so the attention goes only to my creation. Only sometimes my creations are to big, so then I have a problem ! :(

I always take the picture as close as I can, so you can see as much detail as possible.

definatley prefer 'hat piccies' on real people than on a bust (The head type before the comments start  ) if you see what i mean.

Shows smiles on the faces and doesnt look sterile.

For the big stuff like motorbikes and wearable cars it looks good with plenty of light, plain light background and taking loads of piccies from various angles. then choose. Nothing worse that seeing photos with no depth. It cos nothing to take loads of pics. oh and definable detail of the balloon.  :D  8-)

When i was looking to get new photos done for balloon modelling i searched around on the internet to see what other people had done. I looked at agents' websites and companies who do twisting

my conclusion was that I need to be in the photo with some balloons. Anyone can make balloons, no one else can be me making balloons!

So this is the photo i like best.

I've added info for an advert here on Balloon Chat.
It was done by a pro photogragher in her studio. She does all my photos of me.

I've been busy so haven't had time to do the pics I wanted to - I'll try later but some thoughts on photos

first one is - what exactly are we asking the picture to do for us?

Is it to show our skill, what is possible with balloons - yes that is a major part. but...

Essentailly we use photos to sell our business to potential customers so the pictures should give an idea of what it is we are offering skill  and artistry is one part.

All of the Balloon models, delivery pieces, decor in our pictures should be the very best we can do - be finicky - plain backgrounds, no creases in the background cloth, no heavy shadows, get close in on the subject, light it properly be hyper critical of this type of picture.

We're generally telling people we're the best they'll get - the samples on our publicity material should be the best.

Secondly we are selling ourselves as entertainers - book me and watch your party / event take off - As Danny said earlier in the thread we need to show ourselves surrounded by shiny happy people enjoying themselves.  - let the pictures show that you can walk the walk as well as talk the talk, good pictues like this with testemonials are pure gold.

Final thought - if your camera skills aren't good get somone to do them for you  - a pro may be exepensive but like Danny said the difference in quality is very noticeable and adds another message that you are a pro and care about what you do - if can't afford a pro phone a local camera club there are some very good amateurs who could help

Depends what your trying to sell,

focusing on fun family entertainment then pay attention to Colour, vibrancy, fun, You have to convey what you provide!

Balloonatic is a little bit different as it a group of people working through a company so just putting one face on it would not work. For example if i'm on the card and Danny turns up, The person booking us is not getting what it says on the tin!

So for my cards I have the word Balloonatic stamped on it, I can do this as the name says it all really.

I would like a balloon on it but I want it to be slick and applicable to corporate adult entertainment and a balloon dog would not be the right image for my company.

I need to find the right balloon!

Might be an idea to have 2 sets of cards, I do have a personal artistic director card which has a picture of me in our little black dresses holding a long white balloon, it's a nice photo but maybe not appropriate for little Sophies 3rd birthday.

Hope I got the point across, in a round about way!
