Yogi Kai

Namaste and hello everyone,

My name is Brit Anders but I go by the name of Kai. My twister name is "Brit the Balloonist" and I am the co-creator (I created it and John Holmes named it) of the "Raisin Twist." I've been making folks smile through the latex miracle makers for about 36 years now. Presently, I am house-less by choice, traveling the country on an old 1985 Honda Goldwing Aspencade motorcycle that was given to me as a tip for a single motorcycle balloon by a young man in Los Angeles, California on December 9th of last year.

I have had SO many awesome experiences with giving away balloons that I am now attempting to find sponsors to fund the trip (now, I am not asking the members of this forum) so that I can work exclusively at doing random acts of kindness with the balloons without always having to concern myself with making a living. It used to be that I wanted to make money from twisting, but now I just want to stand a chance at changing a life, one day at a time. To give a child (or adult) a balloon and to try to get money back is, to me, a lessening of the gift. I'm almost 50 and life is too short to work that way, I think. I am keeping a blog of the journey, to read it, simply go here: //http://www.yogikai.blogspot.com

I use the balloons as a way to enable me to tell people just how wonderful and awesome they are. For some people, it is the first time anyone has ever told them that they are wonderful. It so SO sad to me to have a child tell me that they don't believe they are wonderful. However, I strive as diligently as I can to make sure that every person who comes in front of me, child or adult, knows without doubt that there is at least one person who KNOWS they are perfect. (I honestly believe that we are perfect, just not finished growing.)

If you are interested, I'm also on YouTube; just do a search for "Yogi Kai." I'm sorry, but I don't have any balloon videos up yet, strangely enough.

I would like to invite each of you to join in on a contest that I have with myself everyday: each day, strive to beat your record for the most times you can get people to spontaneously say, "You've made my day!" It doesn't count if you've hinted in any way that you are trying to get them to say, nor if you've told them of the contest. It only works if someone says it out of the depths of their heart. There is no joy that I know of quite as sweet as beating your own high score in this contest.

If I am not as active on the site as one might wish, I hope you will forgive me as I am often busy traveling around. My computer died yesterday so a friend has loaned me hers while I'm in town. IN any case, I hope to become close friends with as many of you as I can.

May you be as blessed as the children who receive your latex smiles.
Om Shanti

Thank you, everyone, for your interest and well-wishes. As I travel, I will make sure to promote this site to whatever twisters I happen to meet.

Well, my next trip is getting close to beginning...well, in a way. I'll be leaving Bellingham in less than a week to go to the Great Vow Zen Monastery for a couple weeks, then on to Bandon, Oregon to visit my family during my 50th birthday. I've been told that I will be gifted (for my birthday) a trailer hitch and homemade motorcycle trailer. This will make the trip much easier, I think. I have yet to make the video for sponsors as I am struggling with a deep decision that would effect my good will tour. As soon as I make my decision, my path forward will become clear, I believe. In the meantime, most of my updates will be through my blog as I have yet to get a replacement laptop and making two entries is very difficult on a tablet or cell phone.

Hi Daniel. I've been monitoring your FB posts and have been seeing some amazing balloons, my friend. What joy to watch. I hope to learn some fancier stuff from you the next time we meet. One of the ways of staying humble is to see new performers come along and beat our best stuff. I may have lots more experience, but what you're turning out is WAY awesome, my friend. :-)

Hi Kai

What an amazing thing to do, so spiritual. There is so much joy in making someone smile.

I will follow your blog as you make your travels, I am sure it will be a great read.

Stay safe on your travels, I hope you can find the sponsorship you seek to continue this journey.
