Hi, my name is Bridget and I very much look forward to getting to know you all and sharing this great art form.

My balloon journey began when I caught the bug a couple of months ago in December (2014), I was actually trying to find something for Christmas table decorations. After taking a look on YouTube I found the very talented Sue Bowler making balloon pedestals, the tutorials she gives are easy to follow and got me hooked. So I went ahead and ordered some balloons and have now made a few displays using the techniques Sue demonstrated.

I then came across Holly from the Twister Sisters and Michael Floyd from Balloon Animals, with their easy to follow tutorials it has opened up yet another twisting world to me. With their help I have made Clowns, Spidermen, Ninja Turtles, Princesses and many more.

Although I know I still have loads to learn I would really love to do some line work events. I have a page now on Facebook and have already been contacted through this by a school to balloon twist in the summer for their Circus event day, Yikes just typing that makes me PANIC :). I'm hoping that this will be the start of something new and challenging for me. I have been a Photographer for many years but have been finding lately my passion for this seems to be quite diminished so maybe balloons will give me the challenge I'm looking for.

So in a matter of about eight weeks or so I've gone from not knowing anything and being terrified of balloons to actually being completely obsessed by them. It's just fascinating that you can take this one simple thing and with a few puffs of air and a few twists they turn into wonderful creations.

Thank you all for the warm welcome, and Thelma many thanks for the jam offer. I don't drive too far from home town lately but maybe at sometime I may be able to persuade hubby to drive to Hinkley.
